The Smartphone Photography & Video Workshop will help you capture and create content for your business. Plus, it is going to give you some serious bragging rights with your friends and family too next time you're on a holiday!
In the Workshop, you will learn the basics of photography - lighting, composition and framing.
You will find out how to use all the setting and modes on your phone camera. In fact, you're going to learn why you have so many camera lenses on the back of your phone in the first place, and how to use them!
You will also learn how to take better selfies and self-portraits, how to style your products or props and take photos in a variety of camera angles as well as the best way to capture video content for your lives and reels.
Plus, there is a bonus section on editing your phone images and videos using the very popular Canva design tool.
There is a lot to cover, but you'll get plenty of time to practise your new skills. By the end of the Workshop, you will have learned to curate, create and capture content that you will feel proud and confident to share on your social media.

From the Last Workshop
These images show the work of businesses that attended the last workshop. After learning the basics of photography and understanding their camera settings, you will also get a chance to practice what you learn at the workshop.
Plus, you will walk away with some beautiful portraits of yourself that you can use in your marketing materials.
How It Works
This is a half-day, very interactive and hands-on workshop!
There are four modules and we will stop for coffee & refreshments, which will also give you a chance to network with other business owners.
All you have to bring is your fully-charged smartphone, your notebook and your laptop if you want to follow along when we cover the editing section.
The next workshop is taking place on 7th June 2024, between 10 and 2pm at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
Module 1 - Basics of Photography
In this module we will look at lighting, composition and framing. You will find how to take much better images and videos using some simple tips and techniques that I will teach you.
I will also share lots of ideas on the type of content you can capture for your business.
Module 2 - Your Phone Settings
In this module, we will dive deep into your camera settings and go through the different modes and functions to use while capturing photos and videos with your smartphone.
You will also learn how to use some basic phone accessories that will take your photos to the next level!
Module 3 - Putting It Into Practise
Using your newly learned skills and knowledge, you will get a chance to buddy up with other attendees and practice on each other.
I'll be on hand to give you lots of tips and advice. Plus, you will walk away with a mini gallery of content to share on your socials!
Module 4 - Editing your photos and videos on Canva
In this module, I will show you how to edit your images and videos using your phone's editing software as well as how to edit photos and videos using Canva. By the end of this module you will know how to create different types of reels and posts using your own photos and videos from your phone!
