When I started my business as a brand photographer, I’ll be honest — it was tough.

There were (and still are) so many incredibly talented photographers out there. People who were creative, skilled, experienced.
And I remember asking myself the question so many business owners quietly ask:
How am I supposed to stand out?
How do I attract the clients I actually want to work with?
Posting more didn’t feel like the answer.
Neither did shouting louder or trying to be everything to everyone.
The answer came when I realised something far more important.
If I wanted to build a sustainable business — one that felt aligned, confident, and purposeful — I had to build a personal brand that truly reflected why I started in the first place.

For me, that purpose was clear: to help women get visible with confidence.
Once I understood that, everything changed.
My content stopped being random.
My messaging became clearer.
My brand identity, visuals, and voice finally felt like me.
Every part of my business began to align with my core values — confidence and connection.
And that alignment was a game changer.
I no longer feel the pressure to be visible all the time.
I don’t work with clients who aren’t the right fit. I don’t experience feast-or-famine months anymore.

Instead, I receive enquiries through my website.
I get DMs from people who already trust me.
I’m referred — consistently — by clients and collaborators.
Not because I’m louder than anyone else.
But because my personal brand does the work for me.

As my business evolved, I began to see the same pattern everywhere. So many of the women I photographed were brilliant at what they did.
Experienced. Knowledgeable. Passionate.
And yet… they were still struggling to get enquiries.
Still hustling for clients.
Still feeling invisible in crowded industries.
Not because they weren’t good enough —
but because they weren’t clear on their personal brand.
They didn’t know what truly made them different.
They couldn’t articulate the value they brought.
They weren’t clear on who they were really here to serve.
And their messaging didn’t reflect the depth of their work.
So visibility felt hard.
Confidence wobbled.
And growth felt like a constant uphill climb.
That’s when I knew my work had to go deeper.
